I really haven't heard enough of him, just the usual chart stuff.
*heavily influenced by non-chart-loving folk through teen years*
It's good to hear other folk's favourite bands. I'll have to raid thelibraryshops for new (to me) music

But he was fairly non chart when I was young, until he had a huge hit with -I wish- because I was around girls who screamed at the Osmonds and Bay city Rollers! yuck! I was considered radical because I liked Bowie..
It was such a long time ago lol! My first gig was Weather Report at the Apollo Glasgow when I was 14, but in spite of my brother trying to get me into Frank Zappa I got sickened (I remember you are a fan) So maybe I need to re-visit my past But then punk came along and everthing made sense.-

I went off Zappa for ages cos I couldn't cope with the scorn in a lot of his tracks (pre-breakdown) so I listened mostly to instrumental stuff with just a few lyrics in it.
Bowie's ace! And I vaguely remember Weather Report being quite good. Another one to dig deeper with, I think!-

Reminds me of an interview with him:

"Stevie, what's it like being blind?"
"Could be worse, I could be black!"
